I need to find out for science some different ways of insulating the home. I have thought of already- cavity wall insulation, double glazing, draught excluders…

Thanks.

I am a carpenter and in all the houses I build i either use fiberglass insulation or I get a professional spray foam company to spray foam the whole house ceiling and all. This seems to be the most efficient for us and it is faster and easier to use because you do not have a use any polly on your house anywhere. Very good stuff! Hope this helps!

Floor Board Draught Excluder That Insulates Too

draught excluder 6.jpgI just read an interesting article in the Telegraph about how to fit a draught excluder for floor boards and insulate the floor in one go.

The article describes how to fit this insulation between the joists of an suspended floor and interestingly at the end it says that this technique serves to add draught proofing to your floor boards.

Both these tasks are recommended by the Energy Saving Trust as cheap and highly effective ways to make a house more energy efficient, so you get two benefits with just one install.
